One day I met Claire at choir practice. She asked me if I wanted to visit a Bible study with her. Suddenly I found myself in a group of young women pursuing a life of obedient faith. While our group has seen beloved members come and go, the same routine happens each week: we meet at someone's house to make and eat dinner together and then we discuss the book we are studying. And, of course, we talk about the ridiculous things students say (Sorry, Sarah! You're overrun with teachers!).
This is where I find refreshment and renewal: tear pouring, nose snorting laughter, iron sharpening iron challenges to live by faith especially when it's hard, and the offer of a sandwich.
One day Martha messaged me and asked if I wanted to visit her Bible study. Suddenly I found myself in a group of women who have countless stories of God's faithfulness and grace in their lives from years of pursuing a life of obedient faith. The spirit of unity and fellowship was the same and I was humbled to see how God gives His people havens of spiritual and emotional refreshment and motivation to continue to seek Him.
