After the reading "lesson," we broke out the dance music and danced. And of course, someone pulled out a guitar and the dance party turned into a sing-a-long and finished the evening with more egg-dying.
This year's English Club Easter Party was so much fun! As students arrived, we gave them a list of Easter related activities and had them find people who had done each thing. It's a great ice breaker, and in no time there were conversations between people who had never met before! We had a photo booth, an egg dying station, and lots of yummy food! My favorite part of the party was when we broke into groups and read through the story of Easter. We had some discussion questions and spent time talking about what the Bible teaches about Easter. My group talked about forgiveness and one of the discussion questions seemed to catch everyone's attention: "This story is about forgiveness. How much does forgiveness cost?" As we reflected on the fact that Jesus died to bring about the forgiveness of sin, several Christians in my group shared their faith. It was a really cool time to talk with our English Club friends about faith and about the Gospel. I got to invite several people to our Community of Faith. After the reading "lesson," we broke out the dance music and danced. And of course, someone pulled out a guitar and the dance party turned into a sing-a-long and finished the evening with more egg-dying.
